Sequoia National Park

One of the reasons we relocated to Bakersfield was to give a us new home base to road trip from. San Diego is a wonderful place and I very much lived there on and off since high school but to go north you have jump the LA hurdle and that gets tiresome.

Our new place in Bakersfield is a little more than an hour from the Sequoias. So yes, of course, we went.

Needless to say the big trees are magnificent, awe inspiring. Yes, words fail me. So look at some pictures and look for a video soon.

This was a quick trip. We just drove up and walked around a bit and then went home. It’s nice to be close to the park and with an annual pass, we can go anytime we want for free.

We could easily have walked amongst the giant trees all day. Another time…

The drive is about two hours (from Bakersfield), or a little more, depending on how deep into the park you go. We ended up with 41 MPG for the total trip.
